My Flamenco Dance Project opens a window into Hispanic culture. My programs integrate Flamenco dance demonstrations with lectures on Spanish and Latino art and culture, and Flamenco instruction with live music.
With my guidance, students of all ages gain exposure to new cultures and discover a new body language and discipline, and new ways to express their emotions through the language of Flamenco Dance. In my culture, movement, music and art, are an expression of our cultural identity. The drama behind Flamenco is connected directly to our history. Children connect immediately to the rhythmic and energetic aspects of Flamenco. Students enjoy the percussive elements of the hand and footwork, and connect with the emotion of the dance form.
I was trained in Flamenco in Spain, and later moved and performed in Amsterdam and Europe. Since coming to the United States in 1998, I have established the Flamenco Dance Theater and open my own dance studio at several locations.
