Description
The trio offers jazz concerts featuring original compositions and original arrangements of standards written by pianist, Laszlo Gardony, a critically acclaimed Sunnyside recording artist. Jazz critic, Scott Yanow describes Gardony as "a superior jazz improviser who infuses his post-bop music with references to his Hungarian folk roots". Gardony has released seven albums as a leader, toured in 23 countries, won First Prize at the Great American Jazz Piano Competition, performed with the David “Fathead” Newman Quintet, the Boston Pops, the Utah Symphony among others. Larry Katz (Boston Herald) calls him “a consistently inventive player who combines an ear for melody with a strong rhythmic sense that grabs the attention of even those who normally resistant to jazz.” John Lockwood (bass) and Yoron Israel (drums) are also accomplished performers. The trio members' resumes read like the who's who of jazz. All three are Berklee professors; they are also available for clinics and residencies.
