Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Purly Gates brings decades of experience performing for folks of all ages, a well-stuffed songbag and an ample supply of renewable energy to her programs.
Purly offers community concerts and school assemblies on themes such as Literacy, Self-Esteem, the Environment, Diversity and Cowgirls & Cowboys. She accompanies her "maple-syrup sweet" vocals with guitar, banjo, accordion, ukelele, harmonica - and some unusual musical surprises - but not all at once. She sometimes offers mouth trumpet lessons to her audience, and usually shares the spotlight with her little wooden limberjack pal who dances along on a song or two. There may be an occasional story or some cowboy poetry - if the moment is right. Purly also conducts instrument-making, songwriting, staff-training and professional development workshops. She is a keynote and session presenter at conferences. Also available as a duo or trio for festivals and large groups.
