Themselves brings artistic excellence and extensive experience to three interactive, educational programs for children and families, and to their Irish duo, trio and quartet concerts for adults and family audiences which can include Irish dancer. AN IMMIGRANT'S STORY- A 19th century Irish girl leaves the devastation of the Potato Famine and journeys to America. With Irish music and dance, Themselves explores the joys and hardships of making a new country one’s home. THE OREGON TRAIL- Share the experience of a family’s 1852 journey by wagon train to Oregon as they cross vast wilderness to claim a new frontier. Period songs, costumes, props and journal entries contribute. THE ROAD TO REVOLUTION 1763 – 1774 A family finds their world disrupted as events such as the Stamp Act create political and economic turmoil. Historical music, dance and costumes help illustrate everyday life, the growing conflict, and the difficulty of answering the question: Do I support the King or the colonies?
