Lydia Perez & Yoruba2 an award-winning, nationally renowned presents traditional music and dance from Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. The group includes such known genres as 'bomba', 'plena', and other rhythms. She offers Solo/Residency of Bomba or Plena for ensemble group in school. Audiences are introduced to a wealth of information on the culture of Puerto Rico. Lydia performs and teaches music and dance that is in her "blood and spirit". She is Singing, Drumming and Dancing. She has received RISCA, RI Foundation Fellowship and awards from Rhode Island, New England and Southern Arts Federation. She won the American Tradition 99 and 2000 National Project Tourism. She travels Nationwide to express through her music that her culture is alive. She founders of the Puerto Rican Institute for Arts and Advocacy. The organization was Award by the RI Foundation with the “Economic & Community Development, 2007. She is member of the National Association of Professional Women.
